The path to recovery!

Everyone of us have been at that place when our self esteem was really low and have done a lot of dumb stuff that we wish that we had not. I will say that there is one thing for looking at things in retrospect, it makes things seem a whole lot easier. The addicts of this world are all suffering from the scourge called addiction, it is something that we all share in common, each and every one of us is addicted to one thing or the other, be it coffee or the morning cup of hot chocolate. We all feel the need to crave and we all go through it.
But there are just some things that we cannot sweep under the rug and say it is the same as being addicted to coffee and they aer drugs and alcohol. Drug addiction as well as alcohol addiction has destroyed many a life and many a family. I do not think that I have to say why they are really bad and that the addicts who are under the sway of either drugs or alcohol must be treated of that disease. It is entirely possible for any addict to be totally cured of his or her addiction.

One of the hardest things that he or she can do is to admit to his or her family of the problem that they are having. After all the only way to overcome denial is acceptance that they are in a problem and that they do need the help. This place is there to help anyone with either their drug addiction or alcohol addiction, and their addiction treatment is designed in such a way that each and every patient here gets a customised treatment. The attention is paid to the needs of each and every patient here and they are all treated on a one to one basis. The food here is simply fantastic with gourmet meals being prepared everyday. The beds are very comfortable and the grounds are vast, they have to be with all sorts of outings being a part of the treatment process. So if you are any of your friends are in need of some advice and help, then go to the links above and check it out for yourself!

The Cordon Bleahhh!

There are good restaurants and then there are the ones that you wish never existed. This one belongs in the later, I have to say that for me, as far as the last 2 days have gone, it has been sadly disappointing to say the least. Well this restaurant is located in Chennai and it is called the cascade.

I do not want to give more details for the moment but you can always leave your comment here and I can get back to you. Lets talk about what happened at the cascade, well, I ordered for an asparagus soup. Lets just say that I became a cow when the soup came along, to say that the asparagus was partially cooked will be over estimating the dish. Then I had ordered for a Fish steak braised with lemon and wild mushrooms, well it was one wild dish all right.

The fish was overdone, flaky in parts and rubbery in the others, the lemon flavor was too powerful and override everything else and to make things more interesting, it seems that the kitchen has run out of Mushrooms. How on earth can a kitchen run out of mushrooms is really beyond me. And the desert was the clincher for me, I had asked for a Black forest cake, it seems that the chef went to one of those retail department stores, bought those cake slices that are readily available in the market, rubbed some cream on them and then put the whole thing onto my plate. It was a really interesting meal in more ways than one! Need I say more!

The restautrant that bites into your pocket!

I have heard of the fast and the furious but when i went to this place called the Saravana Bhavan for some Indian food, I never realised that I was entering the place of the Fast and the Costly. First of all, the food is priced very economically but even then this Restaurant still turned out to be one costly venture for me.
The prices may be low but the size of the food is really to small for anyone eating at this joint to feel really satisfied. The size of the idlis are way to small, even a 6 year old can hold that piece of Idli in her hands, so you can see how tiny it really is. That is not all, most of the portions given out at this place are very cleverly designed to make sure that the restaurant does not lose much, it is only the customers who lose out in the end. The quality may well be there, but the quantity is sadly lacking. Probably if you are on a diet then this is the place to go to. For me though, Sorry, thanks but no thanks!

Marrakesh - the aura of mystery!

Marrakesh the land of the red ochre, since most of the buildings are covered with it and then you have the snow clad Atlas mountains for contrast. I have to say that when I travelled to Marrakesh I cam here with certain preconceptions about this palace and the Moroccan culture. I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised with the way my entire trip turned out. First of all the airport customs could do with a little bit of help as far as the English language goes, you have to repeat yourself to make your point to them. That said, once you step out of the lounge, you may wilt a bit at the heat, but the sight that greets your eyes is bound to take your breath away, literally.
The Atlas mountains are magnificent and one can just spend the whole day just watching them without even knowing the passing of time itself and what is more, at sunset, just as the sun sets, the mountains turn to burnished gold, that is a sight that no one should miss for the world.
When it comes to accommodation overseas, the best thing that you can do is to reserve your hotel rooms in advance. There are many sites that offer to help you out on this and you can try out one of them for your rooms. The room rates generally vary between 24$ to 110$ a night and sometimes even more, it all comes down to what kind of a room you want. You can either settle for just a room or a room with a view of the Atlas mountains. I tried the later and I have to say that I am one happy customer.

Marrakesh is a place that has featured in many a novel from the ones by Agatha Christie to the other authors, it has always been a favorite destination for the Europeans for many years and today there are many french citizens who have made this place their home. So do not be all that surprised if the Moroccans speak to you in french. The Berbers maintain the age old customs and traditions of Morocco and the age old 'Le Souk' or the market is a place that one must not forget to go to. This market is one which is all about contrasts, although the souk has its roots in ancient history, it is very modern and the contrasts that one finds at this place is simply too hard to believe. Once can shop here till nightfall and anything and everything from clothes, furs, rugs, carpets, spices, bangles, jewellery and many, many more are sold here. Tip: always haggle before purchasing anything at any market in Marrakesh.

You also have the Hammam here, which is just another word for spa. And this is one spa experience that you will never forget for all sorts of reasons. First of all, park your inhibitions at the door because you will be asked to disrobe here and guess what, you will not be the only person in the room. But the treatment itself is just fantastic and I have to say that this one did work out all the kinks in my back, so it was great as far as I was concerned and very refreshing as well.
Marrakesh is full of sights and sounds that one should not miss out on. Of course there are the usual hotel bars and discotheques, but if you want the real experience, then you better start walking the city grids.
As far as sights and sounds go, there is the El-Badi palace, that was built I think somewhere in the 1570's by king Ahmed el-Mansour. It is quite vast and is very nice to look at, but unfortunately it was torn down shortly after it was built so we can only see the ruins today. Then there is the The Bahia Palace , which is beautiful in its beauty , the building and the surrounding gardens are all built in the Islamic tradition, please set some time aside to visit this place as it can take up a lot of time.
Then there are the museums to go to, and the tombs although I always found that part of the expedition a little bit too creepy and at the end of the day you can always get a nice cold drink of orange juice or some fruit cocktail at a stall in one of the many souks along the way.

At the end of my visit to Marrakesh, I have to say that I enjoyed my visit a lot but what i ended up enjoying all the more was the Moroccan food, with the bastilla or the cous-cous with lamb and then there is my favorite of the lot, some lemon chicken, grilled Moroccan style! Hope you will have fun visiting Morocco and Marrakesh as much as I did!

The Motorcycle bazar!

We all love the motorcycles and many of us must have owned one of them at some point of our lives, with a heavy duty leather jacket to go with it as well. There are very few dedicated sites where we can list our motorcycles and try and sell them. Guess what, the motorcycle bazaar is in town and it is here that we can not just list our vehicles of joy [ well, they have given us joy] and hope to get the right buyer for our motorcycles. This is one of those sites that is totally dedicated to motorcycles and where we can list our motorcycles for sale.
Here at this site, the registration is totally free and our emails are never given out so as to give us our privacy and prevent any spam of any kind. What is more at this site, there is a search function by which potential buyers can search the listings for their preference amongst all the motorbikes for sale. The best part is that we as sellers are able to upload at least 6 pictures of our bikes onto the site and there is also a query function that is available with each and every advertisement on the site. Many kinds of motorbikes are listed here from the likes of the Harley's to the all too famous quad bikes for sale. It is really one great classified site where we can list our bikes and hope to get the right buyer for them!

The Travel insurance that makes all the difference!

We all love to travel and recently I even made a trip myself which I shall be covering at a later post. But what I had wanted to share with all of you out there, who think that they have all the medical coverage that they may need as they travel overseas, it is time to seriously think about how far that coverage will go?

Why do we need Insurance as we travel overseas? Well, for one the food is often the most common cause of most hospitalisations overseas, lets face it, we as westerners just cannot stomach even a bit of spicy food. The minute we take it into our mouths, our tummies start rebelling right away. If we are fortunate, this distress may last only for a day or two at the most and can be handled with the most common over the counter medicines. But more often than not, our bodies just cannot handle all that hot and spicy food and as a result we often get dehydrated and need to be hospitalised. And naturally our medical expenses will just shoot up through the ceiling, and we may think that our insurance will cover all that. But here is the catch, whenever it comes to insurance, there always is a catch and the bottom line is that most of the insurance companies will not cover your medical expenses that you may incur overseas and what is more, even the few that agree to do so, will only agree to cover half of our medical expenses.

How do I know this? Well, in my last trip to Egypt, I ended up being hospitalised with both a broken leg as well as acute dehydration. What I had stated above had all happened to me . And just when I thought that there seems to be no proper travel Insurance coverage that seems to exist, I came across this company that makes sure that you get all the right coverage as you travel overseas and the best part is that they can give you the coverage for as little as 1$. So just go to this site and Click here for a FREE Quote. Happy travelling!

Prawns stir fry!

First of all, when it comes to prawns you should know that it takes very little time to cook them and that it is very easyt o overcook the prawns.Keep that in mind, that said, cut up some garlic and fry it until you can smell it. Then cut up some shallots into very small peices and then fry it along with the garlic. This should be done until the shallots are al-dente.
Now you add in some of the pepper powder along with some turmeric powder and coriander powder. Now you fry the whole thing again at least until the flavors come wafting to your nose. Now you add in the prawns and let the whole thing mix up very nicely. With that, the prawns should be cooked in 2-3 minutes flat. you can add in some mushroon soy sauce for additional flavor as well.Enjoy your Food.

The Cold blues!

Cold is as Cold does, it sends shivers up and down your spine and I have to say that as spine chilling as it does sound, there is nothing worse than being caught out in the blizzard with the temperatures plummeting down from a comfortable zone of 20 to -5 Celsius. The chill has already started with the mean average temperatures of many places in the Northern hemisphere coming down by quite a notch.

Here in India, the northerly cold winds have started blowing hard and cold, causing mists and fog as the cold north air meets the warm southerly winds. The key is always to get out of the cold weather ASAP until and unless you want to miss out a few toes and fingers while you are at it. The one thing that is great about the cold weather is that you will love the sunshine would love nothing better than to just lay out there in the hot sun and let the sunshine work its magic on you and your chilled bones. After all the hot and monsoon weather that one has been having in India, you would think that we would love this weather, but the Cold weather brings its own share of problems and each and every year it ends up killing hundreds of homeless people who succumb to it due to lack of proper shelter. They often go to sleep in the night and just freeze over, and pass away. The tip as far as cold weather goes is to get out of it as fast as you can because in the coming months, the weather is bound to get a whole lot more than just 'nippy'. You can heat yourself in front of a fire, or if you do not have the proper shelter, then there are many homes all over northern India that have been given the orders to open its doors to the homeless of Northern India. As it is, every season brings its own joy and sorrows, so it is up to each and every person as to whether they want to welcome this season with a smile or with a frown, I prefer the former.

The Parking dilema!

Have you been to Heathrow airport, if so then you will know what a busy terminal it is. First of all, getting hold of a Parking space in itself is a rarity, sometimes you have to keep on diving around for one and then just when you spot a space to park your car, someone else comes along and takes it. It has happened to me so many times that I have lost count of it. Which is why I for one am glad that this company has come about. Now we can get the parking that we want but that is not all, with this company we can get the parking space for our cars and the cream in this offer is that it is a discount heathrow airport parking.
After this, I do not think that any of our trips to Heathrow will ever be such a nightmare. There are times when I cursed the fact that i had to go to the airport and it was all because of the parking dilemma. But now with this company all of my airport parking needs are all taken care of. The next time you want to travel you may want to go to the links above for your Heathrow parking space!

The mirror of 'Lost hopes'.

Today I had a very interesting conversation with a mirror, am I going nuts? Maybe, but I have to say that this conversation was one of the sanest that I have had in a long long time. Lets all just think about the way we converse with each other, shall we? We often have this tendency to say more than we want to but when it comes to the real crucial matters we are often tongue tied or worse, we lie through the back of our teeth.
Ostriches are better than us at this, at least they say upfront that they do not want to deal with the truth and as such they hide their heads in the sand. It is so easy to try and push that dirty truth under the rug, is it not? But truth often has this irritating habit of coming out when you least want it to and then biting you in the lower posterior with it[ in case you are wondering what am I talking about, that is just a neat way of saying butt without actually saying it]. Anyway I had a decent truthful and an honest conversation with my mirror, because the mirror can only reflect what it sees, it cannot make up that image and present it in some other way. The miror will never lie, and I have to say that I wish that everyone could be the mirror not all the time but at least some of the time. We could always present others with one of thse mirrors. Oh! what a tangled web we all weave when we pretend to deceive and that is the saddest truth of it all!

The success in the Spanish tortilla saga!

First of all cooking does not come natural to me and believe It or not i can mess up even the most basic of instructions when it comes to cooking. Anyway, i recently saw this show on cooking the perfect Spanish Tortilla and i was hooked, i wanted to make it and tried my hand at doing so. The only problem was that although my heart was on making one it seems that my mind was intent on making another, complete burnt out rubbish. I can swear that as my heart pounded and the blood rushed to my temples as I sat watching the stove with anticipation of the most perfect Spanish Tortilla, the only thing that came wafting to my nose was the smell of the burnt out egg. That was one total and utter disaster.
But I persevered and i surprised myself yesterday with the most perfect Spanish tortilla which by the way is a kind of an egg pie with potatoes, onions, garlic and anything else for the filling. Anyway my Spanish experience yesterday taught me that failures are indeed stepping stones to success. So I march on, intent on conquering other cooking peaks, for today, I have decided to make a stir fry prawn and egg pepper. I shall post tomorrow on how that went, wish me luck!

Fashion is all about showing off your undies or the fact that you have none on!

Fashion is all about how much you can pull off, that is like the case of the "Emperor's new clothes". These days high fashion means that you have to wear your pants low and have your butts hang out literally showing off your under wear to each and every one on the street. I really cannot see any logic in hanging out our butts so that everyone can see whether I am wearing Calvin Klein or not. What a weird fashion statement to make- hang your butts out and let everyone and anyone see it. one could say that as a result of this insipid fashion statement, more butts were seen in public than anywhere and if you do not have your butts hanging out of your jeans in the public, the police may actually charge you for wrongful confinement of ones butt. In short as a result of this fantastic idea, all butts are now public property.
It seems that asinine fashion statements did not just end with that. Thanks to Brittney spears, now most of the women are expected to go without their inner wear. I have always thought that Paris Hilton was a bit off balance so as to speak but to actually go out without wearing anything there,is just disgusting. I know that those two, Paris Hilton and Brittney spears probably are very proud of their butts and do not mind showing it off to everyone but a butt is just a butt. There is nothing much special about the Paris Hilton butt except for the fact that it would probably go off to sleep most of the time. As for the Brittney spears butt, the only thing special about them are the fact that they look a bit fatter. As such these are the new public attractions so have your camera ready, you never know when you may run into the 'mooning' faces of brittney and paris!

How hard is it to get sports tickets?

The answer to the above query is quite obviously a big and resounding 'very'. As humans we all love our various sports, from a bloody sport like Boxing to car racing to Tennis to Golf. There is no sport event in the world that does not have a fanatic following somewhere. Lets take the Formula-1 event, do you know how hard it is to get tickets to that event in partticular,it is very very difficult not to mention the Q that will be going on and on in front of the ticket stalls. Which is why whenever I want to get some Formula 1 Tickets I approach Viagogo, as they always get me the tickets that I wanted, the right ones inculding the row and seat that I would have preferred.

Tickets to sports events in Europe are mostly sold out as they are literally a sport crazy continent. Take the most sedentary sport that you can think of, like say Golf. You will find that even the Golf Tickets tend to get sold out at most of these Golf opens. With such a demand on the tickets one may often have to go to the right ticket hubs to get ones tickets, like the Viagogo.

Tennis, a sport that has always fascinated us time and time again and amongst some of the most famous events that take place in the game of Tennis is the annual Wimbeldon event which besides being attended by many is also seen by many the world over. As such getting the Tennis Tickets to these events is easier said than done. Which is why one should approach ticket hubs like the Viagogo to get ones tickets without any fuss whatsoever. I have to say that there is something fascinating to see two talented players to try and battle it out in the middle of a tennis court. Anyway if you are in need of tickets to a tennis game or any other sports event, or to any otehr form of entertainment then just go to the links above and purchase them! have a nice day!

The concert tickets at the click!

Everyone loves to go to a concert or a ballet or a musical. But to actually go to one, that is to get the tickets is easier said than done. Which is why I for one am glad that there are ticket hubs like the Viagogo where we can get the Tickets to the latest shows at the drop of the hat, literally!
Recently I had travelled to Munich and wanted to take in some of the concerts that were being hosted there. But to my surprise I found that nearly all europeans love their concerts and as a result I had to spend that night watching the concert in the telly. If this is your first time to Europe and Berlin, you should remember that the germans in particular love their operas and concerts and if you plan to talk in the middle of a show, you may get kicked out of the hall. Why am I saying that here, well, because it has happened to me. I guess Europeans in general love their show and as such would not like to see someone talking in the middle of a show. Anyway, I finally managed to get the Konzert Tickets through Viagogo and I have to say that the service was very fast and getting the tickets to the particular concert I wanted to see was no problem at all.
Thorugh this leading ticket hub, one can also get theater tickets and tickets to musicals like the kind that you may hae seen on the broadway. Getting the Theater Tickets was a lesson in itself, in the sense that I had tried some of the other ticket hubs just to see if they could proide me the same quality of serice that I had gotten at Viagogo, but sadly they could not even get me a booking. I have to say that as a ticket hub these guys have impressed me to no end and in the future whenever I travel to Europe, these guys are the ones that I will use for all my ticket purchases! Go to the links above and you will see what I am talking about!

Is yawning contagious?

It is very surprising that as I watch someone yawning on the telly that I feel like yawning as well. The Human body is one machine that works on so many levels, the conscious and the sub-conscious. I think that since pre historic times when Humans went about in tribes, they must have all eaten together and slept together. As such when one member of the tribe starts yawning after a heavy meal, the whole tribe must have taken it as a signal for 'lights out'.
The Human body must have adapted this as a signal for sleeping and this knowledge that it is based on is what scientists call 'hereditary knowledge'. So today when we see someone yawning, we have this tendency to start yawning ourselves and soon it is all lights out for us!

The Smorty wonder!

Smorty is one of a kind of a marketplace bringing the creativity of the bloggers and the will of the advertisers all together under one roof! As such, Smorty is much better than many of the other 'paid to blog' services that exist today in the sense that they allow the bloggers to retain a certain amount of freedom in the way that they express themselves.
This is very important in the blogging world, which is why Smorty is so valued by the bloggers everywhere. The advertisers get access to an u8nlimited source of much valuable advertising resource and the bloggers get paid for blogging. Today the news media is changing and the Fourth estate has taken a a brand new form,it is called blogging. Every blogger is a reporter in the sense he or she gives out valuable info based on their experiences, which is why they are so valuable to the advertisers. The bloggers get to realise their dreams that they can now blog and at the same time they can also blog for money. Smorty is providing a much needed opportunity for the bloggers to express themselves and get paid for it At the same time! Yea! Smorty, you rock!

The Spanish siesta!

Traveling to foreign countries is never an easy experience but it will always be a memorable one in more ways than one. Travel, broadens ones horizons and that is more true when it comes to Spain than any other country. When one thinks of Spain, all one can think of is how lucky they are. To be allowed to take a siesta during work and then getting paid for it. We all know what will happen to us if we go to sleep in the afternoon while at work, don't we? But they have such a wide exposure to different cultures and customs that Spain today is a hot pot of Catalan, Spanish,Moorish and Turkish influences in all aspects of its society. But the one thing that has not changed is their passion for the Torres! To travel to Spain one must definitely visit Torre de Bujaco, Muralla de Avila where one can enjoy the fantastic sights that these places have your visit would truly be a memorable one in more than one way!

The site for products!

We all tend to purchase the things that we just saw on the telly. Such is the power of suggestion, but how do we know that we can expect all of those products to function as they were advertised to do so? Here is were the part of the reviews come in. First of all we all should understand that ads and advertorials have a very nasty habit of glossing over the truth. What is more, it is better for us to depend on the reviews of others who have used that product before than to just depend on the ad. Say you saw an ad on hair loss treatment and the ad was about the product provillus, would you not want to know whether the product works or not before you make that purchase? I would, and that is why I am glad that there is a site like this one, just for the consumers.
This site does an actual review of the product and also gets others to review that product and a rating is then given. Say you needed that extra bit of cash as the holidays are fast coming up, would you not want to know the reviews of companies offering a cash advance and their ratings. Such reviews and ratings would most definitely help you to decide which company suits you the best of the lot and could make that leap of faith a whole lot easier for you. By the help of this site, we would be able to get that much needed payday loans and be sure at the same time of not falling into a debt trap of any kind! So if you are going to purchase any product or service, it would be a very good idea to read the reviews of that product here at the links given above!

The cash advance that we all need!

There is no such thing as a free lunch and I think that we all know that to be true. In today's world that is not what we should be concerned about, but rather that when we pay for our lunch, to make sure that no body takes undue advantage of us. There are many companies that offer us a cash advance but often what they do not tell us is that they will end up charging us an elephant every time we try to pay our loan back. It is the same with most of these companies, when one takes a cash advance, one should always make sure that the rate of interest is viable enough to allow one to repay the loan. Did you know that most of the credit companies charge you a second interest upon the first interest in case you fail to pay that months payment? These are some of the ways that one can get easily trapped in to a debt trap.
To avoid that from happening to us, one should always do some research and try and locate a company that offers payday loans at low rates of interest and a very nice repayment plan. One such company is this one, it offers you help by way pf providing cash advances at very attractive rates of interest and also makes sure that it does not keep you waiting from the moment you apply. The service is immediate and what is more, they deposit the money directly into your checking account. So if you are in dire need of a cash advance then this is the place to go to, just click on the links above and check it out for yourself!

The Emperor's new clothes!

Every generation has its own version of 'fad' clothing and what is in and what is out. The thing that is common amongst all humans, irrespective of race or color is that we all love to be that Emperor in his new clothes. What makes us human is our individuality and it is this individuality that is being eroded by all these schools with their draconian laws and ideals that do not make much sense to the younger crowd. I remember, from my time in the convent, i had to wear this grungy looking uniform to the school every single working day and if I chose to exert my individuality, woe betide me. The fact of the matter is that when it comes to schools and colleges, they would like nothing better than to have sheep for students with the principal as the Pig babe, leading all of us on.

There is always another side to this tale of the clothes that are not unique, yet they are all cut from the same cloth so as to speak. The schools and colleges in most of the countries insist that their students wear a uniform to the class and they would take it as a personal affront if they do not. Which is all very silly if you ask me, the schools and colleges are there to shelter and nourish that streak of individuality in each and every student and yet they go out of their way to suppress it in one form or the other.

This fact that unique dresses worn by each and every student individualises him or her and thereby gives rise to that creative and innovative spark that is inherent i all of us. It is this unique spark that makes us so much more human than anything else that we may do. If you were to take any other mammals or any other animal, you will find that it is we who have that creative edge over anything else. It is this innovativeness that each and every school should encourage and develop in every student and I earnestly hope that we do not have to resort to the case of the Emperor's new clothes for that to happen!
