The path to recovery!

Everyone of us have been at that place when our self esteem was really low and have done a lot of dumb stuff that we wish that we had not. I will say that there is one thing for looking at things in retrospect, it makes things seem a whole lot easier. The addicts of this world are all suffering from the scourge called addiction, it is something that we all share in common, each and every one of us is addicted to one thing or the other, be it coffee or the morning cup of hot chocolate. We all feel the need to crave and we all go through it.
But there are just some things that we cannot sweep under the rug and say it is the same as being addicted to coffee and they aer drugs and alcohol. Drug addiction as well as alcohol addiction has destroyed many a life and many a family. I do not think that I have to say why they are really bad and that the addicts who are under the sway of either drugs or alcohol must be treated of that disease. It is entirely possible for any addict to be totally cured of his or her addiction.

One of the hardest things that he or she can do is to admit to his or her family of the problem that they are having. After all the only way to overcome denial is acceptance that they are in a problem and that they do need the help. This place is there to help anyone with either their drug addiction or alcohol addiction, and their addiction treatment is designed in such a way that each and every patient here gets a customised treatment. The attention is paid to the needs of each and every patient here and they are all treated on a one to one basis. The food here is simply fantastic with gourmet meals being prepared everyday. The beds are very comfortable and the grounds are vast, they have to be with all sorts of outings being a part of the treatment process. So if you are any of your friends are in need of some advice and help, then go to the links above and check it out for yourself!

Is yawning contagious?

It is very surprising that as I watch someone yawning on the telly that I feel like yawning as well. The Human body is one machine that works on so many levels, the conscious and the sub-conscious. I think that since pre historic times when Humans went about in tribes, they must have all eaten together and slept together. As such when one member of the tribe starts yawning after a heavy meal, the whole tribe must have taken it as a signal for 'lights out'.
The Human body must have adapted this as a signal for sleeping and this knowledge that it is based on is what scientists call 'hereditary knowledge'. So today when we see someone yawning, we have this tendency to start yawning ourselves and soon it is all lights out for us!

The good german - a REVIEW!

The good German is a nice book that has been written by the author Jospeh Kanon. The book was interesting in so many levels, with all the hidden layers of intrigue laid bare. The book by itself makes us look deep inside ourself to see what we many not want to see.
Yesterday I saw the The good German that was based on this book. The movie has been shot entirely in B&W and it does take one back to the time we all saw Casablanca. Some of the seedy portions have been cut out of the movie version for the main reason that they were too seedy. But the essence of the book has been caught in full. The movie may be boring to some but it was enthralling to me and I am sure to the others as well. And it most definitely not one of those action movies that one can see and immediately forget the minute that one steps out of the theater. This is not the 'Die hard' kind of movie, it reads more like a spy thriller and even the music is designed to take one back all the way to the 50's when the soundtrack could not be called perfect. That is the music goes off key in the middle of the movie just as it used to do so in all those old movies.
This movie is a must see for all those old movie buffs, it will definitely thrill them to see the way that the movie was shot, with blurry backgrounds, with off key soundtracks and with dialogue that is designed to catch your attention more than the action in the movie itself.
This is a 'Back to the past' kind of movie on all levels. The basic synopsis of the movie is that it involves a German couple, an ex Nazi officer and his Jewish wife and what they do to survive and get out of Germany. The book and the movie makes us take a really deep hard look into ourselves and see into that dark morass that we call the human heart. I remember seeing an old B&W movie about an American officer falling in love with a German women and he falls for her. And as he tries to help her get out of Germany, the treachery that is within that woman's heart lays exposed for all to see. This book and the movie follows along the same lines. That is the plot of the book and the movie is not something that we have not heard of or seen before. But the difference is in the way that this book as well as the movie makes us take a deeper look into what we may call our 'Priorities'. The movie, especially the second half, has the very essence of Casablanca built into it and I have to say that of all the people in the Movie, Cate Blanchett was impeccable all the way, She truly brought the 'cold heart' and the 'reality bites' that any war may impose on a Human soul into true juxtaposition! This movie is most definitely a 'Must see'.
